Ready for a challenge? Alina and Kara love widening their repertoire so that you get the best of what Pilates has to offer. STOTT Pilates provides various continuing education and certification classes for all of the equipment. And don't you love the equipment? Both Kara and Alina have recently completed the Intensive Barrel Training which includes training for the Arc Barrel, the Ladder Barrel and the Spine Corrector. Alina also completed the Athletic Conditioning on the Reformer Training at the ONE Pilates Studio in Denver, Colorado. Kara attended specialty classes for Bosu Ball Instruction at The Designed Body in Plano, Texas. The Ladder Barrel is a blast to work out on! Check out Alina doing the Ballet Stretches Series on the Ladder Barrel during training in Denver, Colorado. All Photos except for the personal photo of Alina come from STOTT Merrithew Photography. The National MS Society has paired up with Omni Pilates to provide a weekly, free Pilates class to people who suffer with Multiple Sclerosis. Omni Pilates holds this class every Monday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Reservations and the Introductory Session are needed prior to attending the class. Pilates uses low-impact, typically non-cardio, exercises that can alleviate common MS symptoms such as loss of co-ordination and balance plus it improves posture and mobility. It does this by strengthening the core muscles in the center of the body—the deep abdominals, the pelvic floor, and the muscles around the spine. Additionally, Pilates builds strength, stretches muscles, teaches body awareness—which is helpful for those with body numbness—enhances good posture and joint mobility, and relieves stress. Instructors are trained to tailor sessions to meet the needs of the individual. So, regardless of a person’s changing ability or strength, Pilates can help them. If you know someone who would benefit from this program, please have them contact your instructor or the studio at (806) 731-4540.

Whole fruit and veggie juices and smoothies are an excellent alternative when satiating hunger in scorching heat. Both of your instructors use and love their NutriBullet. Here are a couple of their favorite recipes: Refreshing Greens 1 Cup Power Greens ½ Cup Cucumber ½ Cup Pineapple 1 Kiwi 6 Cashews or Almonds H20/Ice Energizing Chai 1 Cup Frozen Mango 2/3 Cup Chai Tea ½ Banana ¼ Cup Coconut Milk 1 tsp.
